What’s up with MC Eiht?

MC Eiht is a killer MC out of Compton. He’s known for his West Coast vibe, but did you know that he has developed an acting career and even voiced a character (Lance Wilson) in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

The music

The year was 1992 and the West Coast vibe was in full effect. Back then, he was part of the group Compton’s Most Wanted. Their debut album “Music to Driveby” hit number 20 on the Top R&B/ Hip hop albums list that year.

The controversial music video for their track “Hood took me under” featured gang stats and in your face visuals related to gang violence and the prison system as it was in the 90’s.

He scored a role in the critically acclaimed movie “Menace II Society” and his track “Straight up Menace” was a huge hit off the Soundtrack.

The highlights

Mc Eiht has had some pretty cool collabs in the last couple decades. He was featured on Kendrick Lamar’s “Mad City” and Snoop Dogg’s Tha Blue Carpet Treatment.

He has also acted in quite a few movies including 1996 “Reasons” and 2001’s “100 Kilos”.

In 2011 he released “MC Eiht – Fine by Me” and in 2013 he released another short called “Streetwise x MC Eiht”.

Where is he now?

MC Eiht is performing. He has a show coming up in November, 2021

He works out like a mad man and keeps healthy. He’s keeping up with the trends and remains a relevant member of Hip hop society.

He can be seen performing pretty regularly and shows no signs of slowing down.
