Tonight’s featured artist is Pegy
So, I thought that tonight, I would broaden our horizons a bit. Tonight’s featured artist is Underground Russian rapper Pegy from a town near Moscow, Russia.
I was checking out new talent on Instagram’s #underground when I ran across some of Pegy’s videos. I don’t fluently speak Russian. I have a tendency to decide that I’m going to learn a language, learn the basics and then lose interest… So, I understand a bit of Russian.
However, the lyrics were not what drew me to Pegy’s videos. What caught my attention was his rap style. It is so 90’s Bone Thugs-esque that I started listening to it. Even though, I couldn’t really understand what he was saying.
This song in particular has caught my attention. It’s great. I’ve been listening to it all day, trying to figure out everything that he is saying, but if you’re like me, you can appreciate good music; no matter what language it is in. And this is good music. Pegy is smooth. And he’s not exactly hard on the eyes ladies.
Some of Pegy’s favorite music includes Yegor Creed, Lil Pump and Jason Derulo. He says that he is inspired by other Underground Russian rappers and American music.
Pegy is definitely an Underground Russian rapper I can get down to; I’m going to have to learn more Russian so I can completely enjoy his music and I encourage you to do the same!
