Hello guys and welcome to RELAUNCH WEEK! Tonight’s featured artist is David Devaul. He is a sick, up and coming Emcee and Freestyler.

David grew up on a farm in a small town called Britt, IA. He first started listening to rap as a kid, mowing the lawn on the farm. When he was twelve, he started writing his first rap and at twenty, he bought a guitar to make his music come together.

When asked what his ultimate goal is with his music, he replied “I want to be authentic with my music and speak from the heart.  I definitely have a fun side so I throw that in there as well but the music that resonates with me mostly is something that can create emotion to me and the listener.”

He expresses admiration for Chance the Rapper. He says that “He uses his platform to make a difference in his community which is the purest way to be fulfilled in this industry.”

4:13 Strong

David is on the Board for a Non-Profit called 4:13 Strong. This Organization helps give men a second chance that have made some wrong decisions in their lives and need a hand. They offer a place to live, 100% work placement in the Construction industry and many other services.

Freestyle Friday, I don’t know what the answer is but I know racism is not Godly. Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan who was judged for their skin but was the only one to help. I serve on the board of a program that gives men, mostly African Americans, a 2nd Chance and I love those men. Nobody is perfect, people make mistakes, come from all different backgrounds but what happened was flat out wrong! I’ll also say let’s not judge all cops either. My dad was a cop and a great man. He used words with people instead of force. We need to come together as equals. THAT IS AMERICA and we have unfortunately not been looking like it. #blacklockfridays #georgefloyd #blacklock #freestylefridays #quarantinecollab @black.lock
