Alright, I’m going to let you in on a little Nevernaire promotion secret. I have been working on promoting 5am Zeri’s music and I decided that I would try out Playlister.club.

Usually, getting on playlists is a long and arduous process. You have to find the most popular playlists in your genre, find the contact information for the curators, email them and then pray.

I have found a way to bypass this long process and I want to share it with you!

Playlister.club First Thoughts

So, at first I was pretty skeptical about Playlister.club. I have seen too many scams based around getting on playlists and I figured that this was no different. I started out by reading a ton of reviews about the platform and I have to say that most of the reviews were very good.

After reading the reviews, I decided to check out the platform myself. So, I decided what track I wanted to promote and I signed up.

After I fainted when I saw the price for a one track campaign, I did some math and realized that if I could get the song on five playlists, I would save myself hours of researching and emailing curators. I paid the $40 to start the campaign and then I waited.

The dashboard is pretty straightforward and when you have an active campaign, it looks a bit different. But, it is very user friendly. When your campaign is active, there is a sidebar with stats about the progress, including the number of plays, number of reviews and the number of placements.

Trust the Process

At first, I checked back every couple of hours to see what was going on with the campaign. This was a complete waste of time, because the number of plays kept growing, but nothing else was happening. All I did in the first day was make myself think that I had wasted $40.

The second day, I woke up to an email that the track had been placed on a playlist! I checked the campaign and I saw this…

After the first placement, I started to feel better about the platform and gave it some time. A few hours later, I got another email about a placement. And then another and another.

When the campaign was finished, I had surpassed my goal of five playlist placements. The track had actually been placed eight times and it got a great review on Spotify!

Then what happened?

The campaign lasted for thirty days. In those thirty days, 5am Zeri’s Spotify listeners number had quadrupled! When we started, he had about 250 listeners and when the campaign was over, he had 1,035.

There is also a new section on his Spotify called “Discovered on” with playlists that he is trending on and these are not little playlists. One of them has over 115k likes!

The real surprise was that the track “State Lines” had gone from about 1k listeners to almost 4k listeners in a month!

Wrapping it up

I think that after reading the statistics, you would have to agree that the campaign was a success. Yes, it cost a little money up front. And results are not guaranteed, but it saved me countless hours of research and pitching (I’m still doing that though and you should too).

The exposure that 5am Zeri has gotten and will continue to get from these playlist placements is priceless.

I definitely recommend trying out playlister.club. Yes, music taste is subjective and your track is not going to be for everyone. But, all it takes is half a dozen or so placements for you to gain a significant amount of exposure and listeners.
