Operation “Make Nevernaire Blog UltraMagnetic” is in full swing with a new interview with Ced Gee

Hey guys what’s up? I have a huge surprise for you! Tonight I interviewed the super ILL producer of the UltraMagnetic Mc’sCed Gee!

I first discovered UltraMagnetic MC’s when I was about fifteen years old. I was really into Rahzel and the Roots and I started to get into Kool Keith. Well Dr. Octagon to be exact. Dr. Octagontologist came out and I was like whoa what is this?! I grew up mostly listening to punk, alternative and hardcore with my brother and I was just getting introduced to Hip hop. I fell in love with Kool Keith and started digging. That’s when I found the album “The Four Horsemen” by UltraMagnetic MC’s. I heard “Checkin’ my style” and I was hooked.

While all my friends were listening to NWA and Snoop, I was getting down to Ced Gee’s productions. He is the man. A pioneer. He was the first producer to start chopping samples. He says he chopped them into little bits. His music was so dope and the entire group just blew my mind.

Ced Gee – So much music to show you

“Delta 5” is one of his latest releases. A great example of Ced keeping it fresh and real for all these years. He is such an amazing MC. Bars on bars on bars. And then, having Kool Keith in his latest drop? It’s just so sick to me. To see that they’re still killing it and loving doing it together. The little teaser of “Gorillas” really makes the video. Still got the moves Keith.

The UltraMagnetic MC’s – Ced Gee productions

The best beats, the best samples and the best sound of the 90’s. Hands down. Ced Gee is a master producer. It’s just the way it is. This song was actually sampled by the Prodigy in their track “Smack my bitch up”. Keith Flint was cool as hell too.

I couldn’t possibly write an article about Ced Gee and UltraMagnetic MC’s without including the video for “Poppa Large”. Kool Keith is still busting this one out at live shows and for good reason. But the video is just such a great representation of Keith’s cryptic and arcane lyrics.

Will there be an UltraMagnetic MC’s reunion?

So, I’ve asked Kool Keith and Ced Gee about this and they both have said that it is a possibility. This answer gives me hope for an UltraMagnetic future.
